Before that, it’s time to raid your kitchen pantry and follow those grandma tips for your skin on a sunny day. We’ve brought out a list of skincare home remedies that prove to be the best alternative to chemical-based products.

Mystic Earth

  1. Turmeric:

Turmeric is a flowering plant of the ginger family and it is also known as ‘Golden Spice of India’ because of its yellow color. It contains curcumin which has strong anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It helps eliminate free radicals and enhances the production of collagen. Hence, it removes fine lines and wrinkles from your face.

Take 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder

Mix 4 tablespoon gram flour in it

Add ½ cup milk or water in the mixture

Form a paste and apply this on your face and skin

Leave it for 15-20 minutes

Rinse your skin with water

  1. Coconut Oil: Coconut oil moisturizes your skin and locks it in between the layers of your skin. It contains essential fatty acids that nourish your skin and keeps your skin healthy. It has phenolic compounds that impart a glowing sheen on your skin. You can make a scrub or a face masque with this coconut oil. 

Take 1 tablespoon of coconut oil

Add 1 teaspoon of sugar

Gently apply it to your face and neck

Massage it in circular motions

Leave it for 2-2 minutes

Rinse your skin with water

Aloe vera

  1. Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera has nourishing and healing properties that help rejuvenate your skin and brings back the lost natural glow to your skin. It removes acne scars, heals rough skin, soothes your skin from irritation, and conditions your skin to the core.

Take 1 tablespoon of Aloe Vera Gel

Mix a pinch of turmeric

Mix 1 tablespoon of honey and milk

Mix to make a fine paste

Leave it on your skin for 20 minutes

Rinse your skin with water

  1. Lemon Mask:  Lemon has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that regulate the Ph of your skin, removes tan, and bleach your skin. It helps brightens up your skin and brings back the lost glow to your skin. It also helps fight hyperpigmentation on your skin and lightens your complexion.

Add 2 teaspoons of lemon juice

 Add 1 teaspoon of sugar

Rub it on your face, hands, and neck

Massage it in a circular motion for 10 minutes

Rinse off with warm water

Papaya

  1. Papaya Mask: Papaya contains ‘Papain’ that acts as a mild exfoliator and gently remove dead skin cell. It helps to get rid of the oil and dirt that leads to acne and acne breakouts. It helps clear the stubborn acne marks and adds glow to your skin. It deeply moisturizes your skin and makes it soft and supple. 

Add Fuller’s Earth and sandalwood to freshly mashed papaya slices

Mix it to form an optimum consistency

Apply it on your face and neck

Keep it for 20 minutes

Rinse with cool water

  1. Olive Oil: Olive Oil is an excellent skin moisturizer. It contains flavonoids and polyphenols that controls the production of free radicals in our body. It repairs the skin cells and adds a healthy glow to your skin. It prevents damage caused due to environmental elements and makes your skin healthy. 

Take 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil in your hands

Massage it on your cheeks, forehead, neck, lower jaw, and all over the face in circular motions

Take a towel and soak it in warm water

Remove excess water from the towel and place it on your face

Leave it for a minute

Repeat the process for 2-3 times

Wash your face with water

Orange

  1. Orange Peel:  Orange is the best home remedy for skin during summers and its peel is even better. It helps to detoxify your skin and works as a gentle exfoliator. It improves your complexion and makes your skin fairer. It adds glow to your skin which you’ve craved all your life. 

Take orange peel which is dried in the sun for 2-3 days

Mix it with milk or cream

You can also add gram flour

Apply the paste on your face and neck

Massage it in circular motions

Leave the mask for 15 minutes

Wash your face with water

  1. Honey: Honey has anti-microbial and hygroscopic properties that make your skin soft and clean. It is rich in antioxidants that make your skin soft and healthy. It helps reduce blemishes caused due to stubborn acne and pimple marks.

Clean your face and damp it few sprinkles of water

Apply honey directly on your skin

Massage it and leave it for five minutes

Wash your face with water

  1. Cucumber: Cucumber helps cool your skin. It rejuvenates and replenishes dull and dry skin. It helps reduce swelling in your face and helps improve skin complexion. It has bleaching agents that help remove the dirt and open clogged pores. 

Take 2-3 spoons of yogurt

Grate 1 small cucumber in yogurt

Apply the paste on your face and neck

Massage it in circular motions

Leave it for 5 minutes

Wash your face with water
